For years the City of Jonesboro’s Parks and Recreation Department has
been working on a part of its master plan to add a 29-mile greenway
circling the city. That idea has finally been made possible through a

Stewart has made a major career change since being named one of NEABT’s
Outstanding Young Executives. Stewart, who formerly served as Cross
County Chamber of Commerce’s executive director since June of 2007, has
moved to Columbia County in southwest Arkansas where he will serve as
executive director for the Magnolia Chamber of Commerce there.

Highway 67 project is one that has been ongoing since March of 1962,
though the Arkansas Highway and Transportation Department accomplished
a major milestone on the project last month with the opening of another
stretch of the highway from Highway 18 in Newport to Highway 226 in
Craighead County. |

Business
and professional people from throughout the community took on a new
challenge recently as they offered themselves to The Woman’s Discovery
Center as participants in the annual fundraiser Wanna Dance?, the local
version of the wildly popular TV program “Dancing with the Stars.” The
32 participants agreed to be paired with a partner and a coach to learn
a ballroom dance and perform it in a public venue, all the while
soliciting votes at $1 each to raise funds for the center. The
ultimate champions of the event were those who collected the most $1
votes.
